New feature: Platforms!
Today, we’re releasing a much-requested new feature: platforms!
Platforms
Are you rushing to make your train but don’t know which platform to board on? (Likely.) Is someone supposed to be meeting you at your destination but they haven’t announced which platform you’ll be pulling into yet? (Less likely, but still possible!)
Well, now you can get that information from the same place that you get your schedule. Just open GoTrack, tap on a train to expand the card, and voila!
The details
Platform data will only be available when the train is somewhat close to the station, so you won’t see platforms showing up for trains that are too far into the past or future, but the data should be there when you need it.
To use this new feature, you’ll need to update your app to at least version 10.2.0 from the App Store.
Conclusion
Our goal for GoTrack is to put everything you need for your GO Train commute in your pocket. You shouldn’t need to consult papers, websites, or station screens to figure out how to get to work in the middle of a snowstorm. This new feature helps to advance that goal by eliminating the need to check in at the station before proceeding to the platform. One less thing to worry about!
As always, if you have any questions or feedback about this new feature, feel free to reach out to us via email. We’ll continue to improve this feature in the coming weeks.
Stay warm out there!
